When Ralph Bakshi released his animated version of Tolkien’s landmark fantasy series Lord of the Rings, toymaker Knickerbocker released a set of figures to go along with the film. Despite being well made, the relative failure of the film and poor promotion of the toys makes them pretty scarce collectibles. MOC examples of these toys, especially the Righwraith, can fetch up to $500 on ebay. Most of the characters come with accessories like swords or wands. Frodo and the Ringwraith also have steeds. |

Where might I be able to purchase any of the Zee Toys figures, and the Ringwraith as I have looked forever
a great chaser for this line is the Clash of the Titans line!
Clyde = I never had those toys, but I’ve seen them. Very cool. I was a big fan of the movie, but I guess my local toy stores just never had that line.
Man, I remember them being in stores, most like Kiddie City and Best stores.
I am looking to put a loose Frodo’s horse for sale on eBay. I also have one MOC that I’m not ready to part with.
I remember when these came out and they were impossible to find in NYC back them. Even a couple years later in the very, very, early ’80’s I’d see them on comic shop walls (again, RARELY) and they were already super rare & very expensive.
